Plant Lane Farm is a woman-led garden design company specializing in plant-centric landscape design and installation, planter boxes, and ongoing maintenance. What began as a small nursery has evolved into a garden-focused practice centered on long-term plant health and sustainability.
Our plant-loving team is deeply knowledgeable, approachable, and communicative — taking time to listen to our clients’ vision and evaluate the existing landscape before making recommendations.
Our goal is to create gardens that are natural, refined, and resilient — supporting the people who live with them and the ecosystems they belong to.

Meet Our Plant-Loving Team

Maureen Hammond
Founder & CEO
Originally from the West Coast, Maureen Hammond has always felt most at home outdoors. Whether picking tulips from her Grammy’s garden or exploring the woods near home, she has been drawn to the rhythms of the natural world since childhood. Her family’s gardens were ever-present, but it wasn’t until after completing culinary school that her interest in plants began to deepen. A visit to a local botanical garden—and an opportunity to volunteer there—sparked a curiosity that set her on the path toward gardening and design.
Today, Maureen brings her creativity and love of nature into every project she works on. Her work focuses on artistically created landscapes that prioritize native and well-adapted plants, support pollinators and local wildlife, and encourage long-term garden health. Through Plant Lane Farm, she continues to merge thoughtful design with sustainability, creating gardens that feel natural, refined, and resilient.
One of Her Favorite Plants: Camellias are easy to care for and reward you with gorgeous flowers.

Jenn Sanford
Lead Garden Specialist
Jenn brings her love of plants and more than 15 years of experience in the sustainable agriculture industry to her work with Plant Lane Farm. For many years, she owned and worked at Chickadee Farms, supplying her community with organically grown vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Now, as a farmer working in landscaping, she is proud to share her plant knowledge in a new way as Lead Garden Specialist, while continuing to grow cut flowers on her farm.
In her free time, Jenn enjoys raising her teenager, spending time with her dog, cats, and chickens, and finding opportunities to cook and connect with friends over good food and laughter.
One of Her Favorite Plants: Ranunculus — layered blooms with vibrant color and lots of visual impact.

About Our Logo
At Plant Lane Farm, nature is at the heart of everything we do—including our logo.
Each leaf was gathered from the plants in our home garden: a mahonia leaf, a fig leaf, and a dark, heart-shaped colocasia. Together, their shapes and textures reflect the way we approach our work—blending plants, creativity, and thoughtful design.
From this small collection, our logo took shape as a hand-drawn tribute to the beauty we grow and the inspiration we find outdoors every day.
